Topical Blends isn’t just another skincare brand—it’s personal. It’s a reflection of my journey, my struggles, and my passion for helping others find confidence in their skin, naturally. If you’ve ever felt frustrated with confusing ingredient names, struggled with finding the right products to use on your skin, or wanted to embrace self-care in a meaningful way, this story is for you.
How It All Started
Growing up, I used normal store-bought products on my body, just like everyone else. However, with time I became more conscious about the ingredients that I was using on my skin and what harms they could potentially cause to me. I found myself spending more time at the store reading the ingredient lists before I bought something. Those long complicated ingredient names were more common than I even realized! Over time, I began to slowly shift the products in my beauty care routine, including lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and moisturizers, to have less synthetic ingredients and more natural ones. One day my mom offered me a homemade alternative. She gave me some Shea butter and told me it was great to moisturize my skin. After weeks of experimenting with the Shea butter and different oil combinations, I finally found something that my skin really loved. I did not know it at the time, but this was the birth of Topical Blends.
It’s not easy to find all natural products (it’s an ongoing journey), but I realized that by sharing my product with others I could offer one more natural option to someone else like me who is searching for the right product for their skin.
Discovering the Power of Natural Ingredients
Researching ingredients used in natural skincare like shea butter, cocoa butter, and vitamin E oil, I learned how these ingredients work with the skin, rather than against it. I experimented with raw, unrefined ingredients and started to see real results—hydrated, healthier, smooth skin without the irritation.
That’s when I had my aha! moment:
- Natural skincare isn’t just a trend—it’s a necessity.
- It’s possible to transform your skin with the right ingredients and without the toxic chemicals.
- More people need access to products that truly nourish their skin.
From Passion to Purpose: Creating Topical Blends
I knew I couldn’t keep this to myself. I always had an entrepreneurial drive, and I was confident that I could create something safe, effective, and empowering for others. I spent months doing research and finding the best ingredients, doing the heavy lifting so that others wouldn’t have to.
With that, Topical Blends was born—a brand built on:
- Clean, natural ingredients sourced ethically.
- A commitment to real, visible results.
- A mission to promote self-care and confidence through skincare.
What started as a personal passion soon became a mission to help people everywhere feel good in their skin, naturally.
Why This Mission is Bigger Than Skincare
While I love learning about skincare and particularly bodycare, I am driven by my aspiration to help others. In my school, my work, and my passions I want to make change and impact others positively. How does that relate to Topical Blends you might be wondering? Well, beyond skincare, Topical Blends represents a bigger picture for me. It connects back to my passion for giving back to others in need, especially in West Africa.
From a young age, my mother and grandmother who are from Sierra Leone, a country in West Africa, have instilled in me what it takes to become a young, educated business woman. Shea butter, which is a key ingredient in my products, is naturally found on the continent of Africa and it can be sourced anywhere from West to East Africa. This is a very important building block of Topical Blends. Staying true to how it all started, I plan to use the lessons my mother and grandmother taught me to run my business while supporting the community that raised me.

- Using Topical Blends as a platform to educate people about the importance of safe, ethical, non-toxic skincare.
- Supporting initiatives that provide education, resources, and opportunities for women and children in West Africa.
- Inspiring others that being multi-hyphenated and pursuing multiple passions is possible.
I want Topical Blends to be more than a brand—I want it to be a movement that empowers, educates, and uplifts.
